The american people voted his ass into office. (majority)

The american people don't know shit about shit. (majority)

The minority (people who have a clue) don't fucking matter. Obama is free to do whatever he pleases.

i dont have my own healthcare.
    i dont have a job
im not on any government assistance (including unemployment)

    I dont want it.
I have no need for it.
If an emergency arises where I HAVE to go to the hospital, i'll deal with having no insurance.

This whole thing is complete bullshit.
unemployment rates are higher than they have been in a long ass time.
families are unable to pay bills and mortgages
So, what does he want to do?
Stick them with another bill that they cant afford to have. and force them to have it or may them pay the government.

This is because you're 23. I have the same mindset. I have great benefits through work, yet I've never used the benefits.

The problem becomes when you need insurance, you're already in too late. You won't be covered.

Don't take this as support for nationalized healthcare. I certainly don't support the movement. Take it as a word to the wise that you're gambling with your life. A one night hospital stay will cost you $15,000.

Obama's comment, "this is what elections are for..." makes little sense to me.

So politicians should defy the desires of the voting public and once the public becomes privy to this knowledge, they should vote the politician out of office?

...I always thought that agreement should be gained BEFORE a vote, not AFTER.

Pelosi's comments regarding medicare and medicaid are laughable, considering that these are both underfunded, budget sucks that are completely unsuccessful from a financial standpoint. She cites these examples as successes.

    I could choke her.

I hate her with a passion.

As I read the news, daily, I question how such an ignorant woman could rise to such power. Along with her ignorance is her physical repulsiveness. I hope for the pride of man, everywhere, that she did not blow her way to the top of the political pyramid.

Although I don't agree with Obama's agenda, I think as a person that he is a pretty sharp guy. Pelosi on the other hand is about as sharp as a wet noodle.

I don't agree with the healthcare plan at all, but congress was never designed to require a supermajority for every bill, just a simple majority. The reconciliation thing is just a way to get past the threat of filibuster and get something passed that already has a majority vote.

The system was literally designed based on the assumption that congressmen would conduct themselves with civility and step aside when a majority was approving of a bill. The issue with congress since the Republicans lost their majority is that that's completely gone for the moment... It's chaos right now and all the unwritten rules of conduct have been thrown out the window.

    Lets turn this statement around,

"The issue with congress since the Republicans lost their majority..."

How about, "the issue when the Democrats lost their SUPERMAJORITY in the Senate..."?

Or perhaps the fact that a Massachusetts, a blue state turned red for the first time in decades? Lets not forget New Jersey and the others.

The point is that the country is loudly saying, AS A MAJORITY, that it does not support the health care bill. If the politicians were acting in our best interest, they wouldn't simply be railroading a bill through because its a part of the democratic political agenda.

Reform may be necessary. When polled, the American public agrees reform is necessary, but does not support THIS reform.

Start over, its simple. Stop trying to railroad a bad bill through the political system. Stop paying off states with special funding or exempting congressman from enrolling in the mandated health care plan.

Let a new bill pass on its own merit because reform is needed and its the right thing for our future.

I was worried about mentioning the parties in my post. The fact is that the bill should have passed already, since a >50% majority of congress wants to see it passed. But with the current 'congressional anarchy' running amok right now, and all kinds of archaic rules are being pulled out of the woodwork on both sides, resulting in nothing getting done.

That's the idea, pretty much, and it may work in this particular case. But if things had always been this way congress would never have passed anything at all, ever.

Waitaminte... Maybe we should have been doing it this way from the beginning, then. :D
