I need to play the beta before i pass any judgment. But historically im in the Modern Warfare camp

Don't judge BF3 on the beta. The build they are using is from a month before beta release, so it's buggy and imbalanced as all hell.

Pre-ordered yesterday. Less than a month away now. Anyone else getting psyched. I think I might just take the 8th off of work...

I'm more like wAiting with indifference. I don't want to get my hopes up too much for this game as it's not really an infinity ward game. I hope it will be good, I'm pretty sure it will be but I've pre ordered battlefield 3 just to hedge my bet. How ever I think the zenith of the franchise will be mw2, not sure how many quality remakes modern warfare has left in it.

I'm not too worried about it really. CoD4 was awesome, no doubt, but I always felt like MW2 was not balanced very well. I feel like it caters to camping, big time, mostly due to the way the killstreaks are set up (how they stack on each other). It's not that I don't like MW2, I do, but I liked Black Ops more. So with that being the case, I'm fine with the new Infinity Ward & Sledgehammer having put this one together. I feel like having some fresh input from some new folks can only benefit a franchise like CoD that basically just re-releases the same game year after year with some tweaks...

I'm looking forward to it. A new studio may be exactly whats needed to take things to the next level. I am really looking forward to MW3.

So have you guys heard about how they're doing the kill-streaks? You can choose either an assault role or a support role. If you choose assault, it's the standard setup with streaks that reset when you die. If you choose support though, then your streaks don't reset when you die, but the support streaks aren't lethal - it's stuff like UAV, counter-UAV, a care package with armor for your team-mates, etc. And then the assault streaks are the more lethal ones (Predator missile, helicopters, etc.)

I think that's pretty sweet. So for that people that kick ass, they can still earn high streaks like in previous CoD games. But even the players that aren't so good can now contribute more to team games and earn some XP, but it's still pretty balanced because their streaks aren't directly earning kills.

Seems like a cool idea to me...

My brother and me decided we'll give MW3 a chance, but if it's as bad as BO it's the last CoD I'll ever spend a dime on.

its gonna blow Blops out of the water i have a feeling.. only thing i really liked on BO was the emblems.. lol

I need to get a hold of Gamestop and see if I can get my pre order bumped up to hardened. I have a feeling ill be selecting the support role 99 percent of the time. Not really because I suck but I like helping the team a lot more.

So what exactly did you guys dislike so much about Black Ops? Just curious. For me, it was the best one so far, and the only one that I cared enough to prestige all the way on. MW2 is faster-paced for sure, but I feel like that's because the kill-streaks stack. People camp for their Predator, Predator gets Harriers, and Harriers gets them Pavelow, Chopper Gunner, etc. It's game over before you know it. If you end up with some mouth breathers on your team that feed the other team kills, it can be quite frustrating.

Also, it seems like the lag recently on MW2 has been just as bad as Black Ops was for a while there. Took me three shots to kill someone with the Intervention last night, and I had 4 bars! I was like WTF?

Yeah, same here. And like I said, this will be cool because even if you're not epic at the game you'll still be able to contribute and rack up XP.

Apparently there's a third option too, the "specialist". Instead of steaks you choose additional perks that activate as you rack up kills. And eventually you get all the perks. Interesting idea. Don't know how much I'd use it though. I like kill-streaks, lol...
