What wheel/tire setup would you guys go with on the 79 ? Ive also got 50mm 4x114 adapters/spacers

The stock lug pattern is 4x120. Unless the suspension has been changed those spacers are useless.

Naw, they're not useless. Two can go in the oil filter circuit, one at the filter adaptor and the other at the block, one can be used on oil fill hole on top of valve cover (JB Weld it to valve cover) to adapt remote spare oil can (use it kinda like a cup holder), the fourth one under the carb as a restrictor plate.

they are 4x120 to 4x114 adapters/spacers guys, read before running your dick beaters lol this has already been discussed in this thread and was how the 17s were on the car , they are also super rare lol started wet sanding and polishing the drivers side, still have to do the whole font end also, im ready to have this thing back on the streets

im wet sanding with cheapo turtle wax and new shine, starting off with 1500 grit then 2000 then polish and finish with mothers ultimate compound , haven't put any wax on the car yet figured id to that last
