i borrowed my dads credit card..i dont know if ill be doing the valve seals..the kit comes with viton valve seals but ive never done them before in all honesty

im staying sohc because its differant in my area and i have a point to prove to some ppl.. prove you want to spend more and make less HP?
i dont like gsr because that is the motor damn near everyone uses here..maybe everyone uses it because it works the best!and i dont like b16 because i never have..b16 tranny and b16 head are all thats good for me..so you hate them just because..?

i couldn't get this off my head unless i responded to this....

just ask Andrew about his super awesome fully built stage II single cam that laid down embarrasing numbers. If you want to have a badass single cam you either better know what you building by doing alot researching or have ALOT of money to piss away. even in a crx its hard to make it go fast with a SOHC. especially when you compare it $ for $ against a uhhhhh B16?

back to topic. nice start on the rex. interoir looks pretty good. get it painted and treat the rust. you should have a sweet rex...if you dont trade it again.

dont spend countless hours and money on a SOHC only to run 15's at the track.

ive rlly never disagreed with you but now i am going to..i am going to go all out eventually on a SOHC..i just recently found out alot of ppl in CT are ditching the dohc for singles..which kinda aggrivates me but im going to continue..but for now i just need something thatll move nice and drive right..but i dunno the b16 and gsr t hing are my opinion based off of what i have seen and worked on..

and heres the shitty pix of the manifold lol..
i polished the main inlet where the throttle body bolts(it was already port matched) and then i ported the runners going to the head(im going to be portmatching and polishing when i get the gaskets) the black in one of the pix is where the runner bends..i will be cleaning everything thoroughly before it goes back together..so it will all be basically brand new

That looks pretty good, maybe I'll do the same. I would like to port match at least. FUCK...I should have done this when my valves were out.

Nooby question but how do you polish after? Sand paper?
 
i have a dremel tool that i did all my work with..the kit i bought came with polishing disks..
then i just used some mother polish and there ya go
 
I encourage you if its what you want to do. I just dont want you to ignore the facts just because you want to try something different. you work is looking fine so far. keep it up buddy.:thumbup:
 
well about 1600 bucks in a d series will get you 130-150 at the wheels
 
i just pulled the valves out and started pulling the stem seals...shit that was a bitch..
im going to finish the polish job right now
