well obviously he doesn't fully know what it takes to get it b.a.r.'d, because he said/asked:

"I got a DB1 and I want to know if they are looking for the B18a1 code or are they just looking to see if it's a B18. That being said, would they see B18c and say 'oh ok, it still has the B18 engine' "

so I did help him out somewhat...

& yes jdm motors are b.a.r.-able but their more trouble to b.a.r. than usdm motors. Did you b.a.r. the motor/car yourself? Or did you buy the car already b.a.r.'d... Just curious to know what mods you had to do to get it to pass...

& yeah a shaved valve cover would work at a "dipshit" smog shop, not the state ref though.

he asked about a reg. smog shop.. not ref.. read closer
but yea
i BAR'd it myself.. just needed the USDM p30 intake manifold and ecu.. thats it.. you can have aftermarket stuff, but the carb # and part # need to be for the Del Sol VTEC
the EG is the easiest to BAR a jdm b16 because the del sol and civic hatch are teh exact same chassis
