PS when I was leaving sunday for Texas, I was in a downpour of rain, hit 3500 rpm and dropped the clutch... they grabbed and took off. Didn't bounce or chirp at all.

The ES100s never did that in the rain.

I would rate the ASTs in wet traction to be on par with, if not slightly better than the ES100s IMO, but they are slightly less grippy during hard cornering.
