dilbeckskate I have videos of 350Zs running 10s and also S2000s running 10s
I've also seen videos of fiestas running 10s as with dodge mini vans running 10s.
In the case of an SHO, if you throw enough money at it, it can go faster then a stock SHO, it can even become pretty quick, hell I have no doubt that if you gave me an SHO and $20K I could get one into the 10s (as with any car)
Sadly you will never throw money at it, maybe some plastic gutter drain piping and a sock over the end for a custom cold air intake, or a gutted muffler with a advanced auto chrome tip installed on the end for some bam bling bling effect.

well after reading this whole thread, im kinda speechless....lol. i had a 90 Taurus for a bit and it was OK for a run-around-town kinda vehicle but that was about it. there was a zero percent chance of me doing anything to it because frankly it wasnt worth it to me, but thats me. kudos to you for wanting to do something different. i mean hell, ive got a bagged Ford Ranger and i get ragged on quite a bit for bagging Ford from all the Chevy guys...but i give them hell back too (all jokingly of course!). build your car for you and who gives a shit what others think. it would be a pretty boring world if everyone built the same car with the same mods on it. keep your head high and your ride low.
btw, ive seen that bodied/vert Taurus about 12 years ago at MiniTruckin Nationals in Pigeon Forge, TN. it didnt look that good at the time but i remember seeing it. VERY different. and LOL at the Family Truckster!!
and not to be a dick, but someone posted that some Taurus had more in the suspension than what the cars worth?? correct me if im wrong, but isnt that true about alot of modified vehicles?

Point in fact here if your on a zx14 your on a touring bike yeah it is quick but not the fastest bike my friend. Just cause you owned on it is not the end all be all of bikes. Just like dickskate owns a sho and it is not the end all be all of cars. So he like to drive around in cars that look like people in the ghetto would laugh at, that's his deal. Personally I know he will never know what a fast car actually feels like cause from what he has posted my bone stock legacy is quicker.

Sport Touring is a classification for anything that doesn't make maximum cycle racing series. A ZX1400 is the fastest mass produced bike ever made. Yes, there are faster (Ok.. I'll say a Y2K Turbine bike... There, that doesn't even have a known top speed). The "touring" version of the ZX14 is the Concours 1400.
Not that I'm being defensive, just stating the score.
As far as the Taurus topic at hand, the SHO is a neat car. If you can get one for $1000 it would be neat. But by that same token, i found a 1989 McLaren TGP for $14k and went home to see how I could afford it (I couldn't). I would also drop the $8000 that this 1983 Supra in CT is selling for if I had it.

Anecdotally, I drive a 2000 Convertible Mustang with the V6. And i don't care what people say about my 76 v6 Cobra - The 2000 is the slowest mustang out of the bunch. But I'm still doing 90 down the highway without breaking a sweat.

thank you celerity, I got bored this afternoon and gave it a full detail bath and mothers hand buff , it cleaned up very nice, and lol I did buy the car for 1k, look at a 1k honda power wise and a 1k sho, and 1k shitbox is much nicer than a 1k honda all day every day, with more than double the power
Nothing wrong with a SHO they are cool cars but again a 100% stock civic SI will out break it out 1/4 mile it and out handle it.
The problem is when the op pushes it as if it's a bad ass v8 killer.

detailed and buffed the shitbox today, it made a huge difference in alot of spots on the paint, I avoided the not soo good spots on the paint too keep from making them worse
