I should like slayer. but i don't. In fact, I slept through their entire set when they opened for pantera (and came on after static x) back in the day. Greanted, i was wasted.... (too much pre-gamming in the parking lot lol) anthrax should be a good time though, and i've seen megadeth back in the day at ozzfest and it was a good show.

oh the show was badass!! i really dug Anthrax and Megadeth but Slayer kinda bored me with their stage presence BUT the music was badass. i wasnt much of a Megadeth fan before the concert but Dave Mustaine was PHENOMINAL on the guitar. very talented musician. they had a contest to text JAGER to some number to enter and i did for the heck of it and they sent me a text to say i won. i won an autographed Megadeth cd called End Game. better than the $35 tshirts they were selling i thought. oh and they had comedian Jim Florentine being the MC of the show. all in all i had a really great time! definately a show to go see

Metallica still puts on a hell of a concert. I saw them last year in Detroit. They play 90% from their first four albums, nothing at all from the Load/Reload/St. Anger era...

Ohh im not saying they wouldn't put on a good show but musically they are just not there anymore... not since the black album. Shit I would go to one of their shows if I was told they were gonna play all their old stuff but if they would try to mix in their new stuff I would leave. Megadeth on the other hand had gotten better over the years I mean united abominations and endgame were 2 excellent albums that show they really haven't changed but actually gotten a little better. Now metallicas last two albums st. Anger and death magnetic........come on they aren't that good lol

St. Anger is a mess, but Death Magnetic I actually quite enjoyed. Very similar in structure to their earlier albums (songs are long, typically 6-8 minutes, lengthy instrumental towards the end of the disc, much more trashy then bluesy, etc.). Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and ...And Justice for All are my favorites, but I'd list Death Magnetic next, followed by Kill 'Em All and The Black Album.

I don't hate Load - St. Anger, but I don't often listen to it. I really don't love The Black Album much either. There are a few decent songs there, but nothing that rivals the previous three albums.

Honestly though, I don't understand why people hate Metallica for "selling out" but don't feel the same way about Megadeth. Countdown to Extinction was basically their version of The Black Album. Like I said, I don't prefer Metallica's later stuff, but I don't hate it either. I won't change the station if "Fuel" comes on...

I never said that they did. Even if metallica did "sell out" good for them really. They found a way to make more money so lars can finally shut his ass up. I guess it all comes down to preference really cuz I can't stand anything after the black album. But I reality I think metallica stopped being metallica after cliff died. That's just my opinion.

I thought Death Magnetic was decent too; though there was some issue with the sound quality on CD and I believe even digital(iTunes). I heard people were ripping the album from Guitar Hero because it was better quality but haven't heard those.
