we need to follow some of the plans of low crime rate nations. they dont' just sit around and give everybody a free ride.

The day you cut programs, is the same day your car gets stolen, your house gets broken into, and your wives/gf's get raped.

And therein lies the problem. The people on said programs, on the whole and as a majority, don't NEED to be on them but rather EXPECT to be on them and won't even try on their own. Their outlook on life is fucked from day 1 due to shit parents (see my breeding act.....) and bythe age of 8 they find they can make money slinging drugs and doing crime instead of staying in school and trying to make a life for themselves.

Prison isn't the answer.... shit, that costs more than food stamps.


People have survived for thousands of years without this shit.
How is it that from 1935 on, we can no longer survive as a species without these programs?

The ONLY answer is lack of self respect.

I agree to a point.

On the prison part of things. I thought I read somewhere that CA was thinking of taking some funds and hiring Mexican construction and security firms to build jails in Mexico to house all of our illegal inmates. They figured the cost of construction, maintenence and employment would be cheaper than housing those inmates on US soil. I kind of like that idea. I also like no cable, cold meals, and no AC for prisons as well. But that is just me.

Prison is 'soft' and a waste of time for everybody. Sure, it may be 'hard' in the yard, but that's only because the guards let this happen and can't do shit to stop it with the current laws even if they wanted to.

Put that labor to work. Chain gang it up like the old days. Repair roads, pick garbage, you slack off or try to run, you get shot on the spot.

instead, we give them 3 hot meals a day, gym memberships, basketball courts, free hot showers, a library, phones, tv, and they don't even make license plates any more and on and on....

Imagine what the 'gas tax' would drop down to if the cost of road work got cut in half due to free labor?

thats why i say treat them like china and just make an example out of them. many countries have low crime rates because they have much MUCH harsher penalties. The U.S. has too many murders and rapists in prison and walking the streets. This could be cut back drastically with some good hard labor and public executions.

It would have the added benefit of not scaring people into thinking there's a rapist around every corner, too. They'd raise their kids better, which would make for better people later on.

The real solution is for cops/etc to use encrypted radios so the news don't hear about everything in real time as it happens.

Weight equipment cannot be taken out of the prisons, but law states that more can't be brought in either. Basically, if it breaks, they throw it out and don't have it anymore.

the problem with prisoners doing work is that then you have the gov't competing with private individuals for jobs/labor

you can't have the gov't make license plates because that takes away the contract from a private company, and thats socialism /sarcastic rawr
