lol... Hey Garrett... the 240 has the KA24DE. Not the SR20DE. And why not just start out with an SR20DET or RB25 instead of boosting an NA engine?

Oh, my bad about the 240SX. What am I thinking? lol

The SR20DE is the base model SR20, you have the VE which is the base model of the SR20VET, which is hella fast, at least that is my understanding.

I just grabbed this off the web.

-------
There are five (5) VE motors.

SR16VE - 173hp 5 speed Manual 97-2001
SR16VE N1 - 197hp 5 speed Manual 97-98
SR20VE - 187hp CVT 6 speed Auto 97-2001
SR20VE - 204hp 6 speed Manual 2001-Present
SR20VET - 276hp AWD Turbo 2002-Present

SR16VE - 173hp @ 7800rpm / 119lb torque @ 7200rpm
SR16VE N1 - 197hp @ 7800rpm / 134lb torque @ 7600rpm
SR20VE - 187hp @ 7000rpm / 145lb torque @ 6000rpm
SR20VET - 276hp @ 6400rpm / 228lb torque @ 3200rpm

the KA24DE comes in the 240sx, the SR20DE comes in the 200sx SE-R.

Ahh that was it. Thanks. What about the 200SX, I thought that had a SR20DE?

:shrug2:

you mean the base model 200sx?

Yeah. Just the standered 200SX, I always thought that it had the SR20DE.

no I don't think so. I had a friend who had the SE model 200sx and another friend who had the SE-R and I know the SE-R came with the SR20DE but I'm not sure what the SE model came with but it wasn't an SR20DE. My friend with the SE-R wanted to turbo his SR20DE and my friend with the SE almost had an SR20DET swap in his car. I say almost because the shop kept lagging and saying the only thing they needed were flywheel bolts. They said they tried flywheel bolts from every nissan and every infinite and still couldn't find any that would fit.

Good point, but why buy a 200sx SE-R unless you like their looks? The G20 weighs the same, has the DE, and if you can get a 5-Spd makes a great sleeper.

EDIT:

My SR20DE

the FWD sr20 is fucking useless ina 240. like none of it is the same.
the block casting is, thats about it.
its a different head, different internals, different mounts and mounting positions on the block itself, not to mention the tranny, way it shifts, and all that.

go back to texas and fuck a steer and stop posting useless shit on the boards.

yeah and holy FUCK you guys post whored the shit out of this- I think the last constructive thing that was actually pertinant to this thread was loco's comment WAY up on the first page-

If you or anyone else is interested in discussing the different engines and models of the 240, 200 and 180 that's great
