well this is the dyno sheet from my bone stock d16y7 on 9-10psi on a big16g knock off china turbo. Im tired off all the haters trying to call me out on post and PMs and say that my motor dosent make that much power and yada yada yada

my setup
D16Y7
ebay turbo kit with Tial wastecate (big16g knock off)
36#h ford motorsport injectors runing at 70psi base because they were to small
D16z6 intake manifold
2 1/4 down pipe
2 1/2 exhaust with a flowmaster 50 series
Tuned with AEM (11.0-11.2 AFR across the board under heavy load) not telling any thing about timing thats where power comes from
skunk 2 cam gear advanced 2deg
final numbers were
224hp @6200
209tq @5100

Would you like me to spell it with one T

Im not even gona start a list of them not worth the drama. I just wanted to start a post so i can refer them to it next time they mouth off about how a d16y7 cant make that much power and it will blow up. I have bad news for them also. I ran it on a dyno jet durring a dyno day at a local shop and those numbers were quite a bit higher 247hp and 229tq but i think they were a little off and i didnt want to give the guy $50 for a piece of paper.

Well the blowing up part may still be up in the air. How long has this motor been pushing those numbers? Maybe at that level, reliability will be short lived. Do you know?

Remember. My stock anything can make 500hp; once.

post the thread with all the hatters...

Is that one of them? :p

Honestly, that's decent power level for a D-series and it's nothing where reliability is an issue. Good job on the setup and more power, reliably, is defiantly more possible.

im not trying to be a hater, and i believe you,but could you post a pic of yourslf holding the sheet,

well i know of 2 ppl he is taking about, can the stock d series make those number, yup sure can. but will it finally fail yup sure will. the stock rods start to break with 200hp or anything after 7500 rpm which ever comes first

And you are so sure?

It is SUGGESTED the stock rods are good to around 200hp. It's not definite. There was a guy who hit 400 or 500hp on a stock block. Guess what broke first? Just guess.

Nope, not the rods, but the sleeve cracked. Rods were OK....stock rods. There are some people who rev to 8000 with stock rods too, with zero issues(mainly the P29 guys). Then, you have people who destroy rods on 100% stock engines.

Seems like you guys are doing nothing more than spreading misinformation/rumors as fact. Who came up with 200 or 220hp as the indefinite limit of stock internals?

i myself have not saw this but from what ive read and from what ive been told over the past 15 years is the d series rods start to fail at 200+hp or 7500 +rpm. that's not to say they cant do it because they can do 200+ on stock rods that i have saw with my own eyes,i just wouldn't trust it to last long.

the engine has been boosted for about 1.5 years and autocrossed often and on the road corse once

and just for you INJEN

just for the record, 227 hp is not "a lot of power" :)

still, good figures for a y7. screw the haters

:werd:

good numbers for a small car. did you post the car up? i don't remember seeing pictures of it.

that's faster than any swap motor with bolt ons though

No it's not; bolt-on K20A's are known to make anywhere from 200whp to 230whp with bolt-ons and tuning. :)
