word..my alt. belt on my crx was so tight i had to cut it off because the alt. was bending from not bein able to be adjusted..and my key was fine.

I'm guessing that the key wasn't properly sized. I've got my Mech design book open from engineering school, and that is by far the most likely cause of failure. It's either that, or the key you used wasn't made of key stock, but some other inferior material. The belts would have to be really tight to cause failure that quickly. Considering how strong keystock is, I doubt that caused it.

Well I did get this figured out. The inside of my crank pulley was worn down, I'm not exactly sure how that happens?

Basically it was causing the pulley to wobble, and that in turn wore the woodruff key down.

Now I'm in search of another stock pulley.

Also forgot to add that I picked up an LS rear disc conversion, and a set of Integra rear seats that I'm going to have recovered in black leather along with my front seats.

all this key talk is making me scared about the pice of a roofing nail iv got in there for a key.....

lmao probably not... im making a homemade turbo kit with a ford probe turbo soon. i think it pushes 7.3 psi...

Haha, roofing nail?! Seriously? New ones are like $2.60 from Honda. Well worth the insurance IMO.
Your engine probably doesn't make enough torque to snap it. :D
Hahahahahaha..

So an update: Work has started on the cranshaft, and also on my manifold. He is basically going to clean up the inside of my manifold (entrance of the runners, collector, and at the flange, etc.), and I did find another crank pulley. This one just so happens to be off of a b18a1, and the splines on it are pretty damn good. It doesnt have any wobble on the crank, so hopefully that will eliminate this problem.

Also, I think next up is going to be a duckbill and CF 99-00 Mugen lip.

nice!!!!
can wait
:(
you can!?!?! i cant...
lol oops..cant wait
The duckbill is ugly imo.

Just get a CF stock spoiler. It'd look pretty good with your fresh paint.
Well, already trashed that idea. I think the reason I was going to do it is because I was frustrated with the look of the paint at the moment. But.. I decided to pop and buy one of these:

I've read a million reviews on it, so far the general consensus is that you get rotary-quality results with a far easier and more comfortable to use machine. I'm excited. I bought the kit with like 5 different pad sets as well. Can't wait to hit my car with it... and I'm sure some of my buddies' cars too

id get the cf duckbill i think they look sick..it would def. flow nice with your paint as well
:w3rd:
Definetly love an EK hatch with a duckbill. CF or otherwise.

Yeah, I still might pick one up because I kinda like the look as well. That with a Mugen CF front lip, and I think it'd be sex on wheels.

As for the car, the engine is back in the car. I have to put the miscellaneous shit back on it (axles, rear mount, exhaust, etc.) then it's off to the races

Final cut and buff has been done on the car. I just need to detail it now.
I still plan on putting new OEM front and rear bumpers on the car. The reason for the front is obvious, and I just simply do not like the way the rear bumper fits.

I had to cut the front bumper to fit the new intercooler because I did not have the right bends at my house to make it fit back up against the core support like I had wanted. So, that will be a winter project. The car is running great. I can't complain a bit. Dyno soon provided I can get ahold of the tuner again.

The Cyclo polisher is really worth the money. One decent pass with it and the car was looking far better than it ever had before. I'll put some more time into the paint/body this winter to get everything perfect. For right now, I have to drive the Civic and put the new motor in the Accord.
