hey guys looking for some suggestions. Im am doing this for class next year
goal: 200+ whp n/a
car: 98 civic ex/ek
Motor: jdm b18c
trans: stock jdm with lsd
Current mods: Toda header 4-2-1, skunk2 70mm catback/testpipe, AEM CAI
Im still want to run on pump gas and will be going with 12:1 CR, cams(brand?),pistons(brand?),and new valves, springs, and retainers.
Please suggest a injector size and brand
I still have stock IM and am having problems with the idle which is a whole new thread and I wont go into that.
Please suggest a good IM(brand?) and TB(size?) to go with setup stated above? I want to try and eliminate the butterfly vavles and IACV if possible with new IM. Please let me know if a certian one has done well for you?
I am taking any suggestions to this n/a build. please dont tell me to boost it or bash on my shit.
And when I ask for brand please dont suggest a bunch of flashy shit. Im am looking for reasonable priced brands that have worked for others.
I am open to suggestions on any other mods or things I might need. Thanks

Blox manifolds work great and are half the price of the sk2.. do you plan to port match your tb to the intake mani? I would go with a stock itr tb if you can find one keep things simple hope others will help as well good solid build so far!

I would go with a brian crower cam set up. Beleive they are stage 2 cams, with some skunk 2 cam gears. The crower cams are recomended to be installed with titamin valves and retainers, cheap but efective upgrade. I would port polish your head if you have the extra cash, other than that a good IM Blox I would agree with, also u can get a butterfly delete plate for your current one. I would look into an AEM fuel management system and maybe RC440 injectors as they will more than hold 200whp if im not mistaken your stock ones should handdle the above said just fine. if u get injectors get the fuel rail, not nessary but its clean and always nice to have for later improvements

I agree with him! But save your money and skip the fuel rail and anything flashy you can push 400+hp on a factory civic fuel system with only upgrading injectors and fuel pump again keep things simple. Maybe some refurbed dsm injectors a good fpr and some mild port work have fun!

12.1cp with proper fuel + cam of your choice + tuning + 2.5 pipe= more then enought for 200

Look into skunk2 stage2 cams, your stock valve springs should be able to handle that, but if your upgrading springs, get them nice sets.

skunk2 cam gears of course, Make sure the cam is degreed.

For tuning, You would have to go obd1 + tuning management of your choice, there are plenty.

310cc injectors are more then enought.

if your running any after market cam with a taller cam profile then you need to upgrade your springs. Valve float is a serious problem when people do not upgrade springs.

you want 200whp? is this a econo build or a money pit build?

With a econo build your going to keep a bit of stock items.

keep the stock rods, keep the stock valves, stock crank, check bearings if they are good with little wear then just reuse them. Now for the power adders and making it reliable! Arp head studs, ARP main studs, ARP rod bolts, new or used stage2-3 cams (crower(dont rev too high), BC(watch valve lash), skunk2(watch for wear)), rs machine, nippon, or ycp high comp (12.5:1 comp) pistons, port matched 68-70mm TB, port matched IM (skunk or blox), tri-y header(ebay works), 310 injectors, ebay intake, and a great tune.

I always recomend people to tune on race gas and pump gas.

FUEL and IGN= what do i REALLY need here to work with my list here

open for ideas!!

hey great build i also recommend a msd external coil but as far as fuel and ign goes i'd recommend that u visit a site called www.andysautosport.com the homepage looks kinda ricey and it talks about bodykits but after u get ur car entered in theres plenty of options for fuel management and ignition systems and the best part is when u get to the part youre lookin for u can shop by brand and there pretty decent on prices (cheaper than passwordjdm) anyways good luck with the build

also they have low price guarantee so if u find the part for cheaper somewhere else they guarantee they will beat that price (not tryin to advertise for them my buddy just used them to build his car so i just was suggesting it to some1 else) but yea u should check it out

just look through my gsr build on here which should be in my sig, i did everything pretty much on the cheaper side and had similar numbers as to what you want. i did it with about a point less compression.
