I had an interview yesterday, went pretty well. They said they'd get back to me middle of next week. I woke up this morning (ok, so it was noon) and i see i have a voicemail. Its the lady from the job blah bob loblaw blah ended saying "i look foward to hearing from you." So that got me a little excited. Well it turns out i got the job. Its nothing spectacular, first job out of college. I'll be doing customer service and some loan analysis for VSAC (Vermont Student Assistance Corp.). Whats good is that i wont have to pay interest on my college loans!! Their benefits seem really good, good medical, vacation, free health club membership, etc. Pay isnt anything special, 24/year. I can live off that Plus they said summer is when youll see overtime (peak season) so thats not too shabby.

anywho, im excited. Been playing the job hunting game for a month, and sitting around doing nothing all day is getting old. ^_^

Well when i had the phone interview they said the position was 22.5k a year. Then at the end they asked how much i think i should make, I said 25. The lady today said with my experience and education they'd do 24. Which is totally fine by me.
I just got an offer for another job offer through email (weird, all happening today), but it starts in the summer. It'd be working at the boarding school for kids with disablilities, not like a 1/2 way house, it costs 50k to send your kid there... and another 10 for summer school. It'd be like a RA at a dorm with a free apt, free utilities, they pretty much feed you too. The job only pays 23k a year, but the take home is equivilent to a 30k/year job since you dont have to pay for rent/utilites/most food. Basically, it'd be another 600 bucks in my pocket. I talked to a good friend of mine and she said you really have to WANT to do it, it can be hectic, stressful, annoying, and feels like babysitting 16yo's who act like their 12.. SHe told me a story about one of the boys sneaking into a female ra's room, she came back and he was jerking off under her desk WTF I highly doubt ill do that though.

well they dont drug test, but the "encourage" you to get a cdl so you can drive the short bus to take em to the movies or into town. Thats when they randomly drug test you. Plus its sorta hard to smoke weed in a dorm type room with 12 16yo's runnin around and supervisors periodically comin around, unless you get a vape.. hmmmmmmm
