Well, My parents seem to think you have to have a amazing job to have a nice car..

So what do you guys do>?

I do AutoCad drafting for a land surveying corporation. But If you do Welding/Fab you can make decent money doing that. My stepdad owns a welding/fab shop, and he makes way more than i do. But i guess i dont exactly drive a very expensive vehicle....

I am in the construction industry. Basicly a carpenter/general.

I make a huge amount of money working on helicopters, but I still drive a lot of cheap POS's...Job>house>car>fun

I'm still pimping a 74 260Z...bought it for $1400
then a free 280, a $1200 95 subaru, a $2500 CRX, a $400 civic but it's now junk.

But I'm only into debt with the house...and those damn student loans. look at sig... almost 35 years old, and I'm making sweet money, soon the house will be payed off...I'm hoping in the next 6 years, and after that....then I'll buy a huge plane, hanger, and have more cars to play with. Plus I'll prolly invest into making the house super sweet, sell it for 3 times what I payed, and get a smaller house to just live in. And work out of the hanger I'll lease down the road.

and for the job and money...lets just say I've already banked $24Ks this year....and I'm the lowest guy in the hanger....by the end of March, I should be hitting 30K's plus...jan-march is 1/4th of a year, 30x4 should hit me up to 120K range, but I need some time off to chill, I've been busting ass since nov....and I'm burned out now...no vacation last year, but had a six week strike, and I still managed to pull in 88K's....

For the money, get a damn A&P license...turn wrenches for 6 hours a day and make as much as me.

i'm a client relations manager for a software company. and i make good money and still drive a honda.

there is a reason people own hondas. they are cheap and economical. having a really nice car is low on the priorities now. if you parents want to talk about having a good job to get something nice, get a house. who gives a fuck about a car. i would rather have a nice house and drive a beater than have a porche and live with my folks.
