Hello all. I am looking to swap an Automatic B16 or LS into an automatic 94 Del Sol. I am wandering what mounts, axles, and ecu to use??? Specifically what rear bracket with mount and what axles....Please help
I doubt you will be impressed with an automatic LS swap. Actually, I doubt you'll be impressed with an automatic B16 swap unless you're planning on using one of the uber-rare JDM B16 auto transmissions...
Is there anything wrong with the motor that's currently in it? What model is the car? Base model, or Si?
If it's the base model I'd probably just swap the D16Z6 from the Si into it. It would be an easier swap, and honestly, if you're keeping it automatic you're not going to feel much of a difference between that and a B16/LS with a slush-box LS transmission.
Like I said, is the current motor blown? Why are you swapping it?
Nothing wrong with the motor that is currently in the car. He just always seems to like the swaps I do. So, he wants a motor just like mine. He wants a little more "PEP" in the car. I was actually thinking about the JDM D15 vtec. How does that compare to the Z6??? Thanks for the help
Just swap an automatic LS engine/transmission into it. Get any B-series into EG mounts, the axles have to be from the automatic integra, and you will need the automatic integra ecu. Depending on the obd of the engine you get, this will decide which jumper harness/ecu you will need to use for the swap.
yea like brutal said..... honda automatics r dumb.........in my opinion honda automatic transmissions are stupid. obviously u are looking for performance or u wouldnt go towards the b series. just give him a d16z6 and tell him its "top performance" lol

Yeah, if he's already got the Z6 I would just stick with that. Maybe do the typical intake/header/exhaust. If that doesn't do it for him, I'd look into an after-market intake manifold, a mild port n' polish, and a street cam.
The JDM D15B is a nice little single-cam motor, but if you've already got a Z6 there's really no point. It's pretty much the same thing minus .1 liter displacement...

he said he has to keep it auto cause the guy has bad knees.
If you're in a congested area like I am, you would want an auto for a DD also. Sometimes I do regret getting my 07 in auto though, but the 5 speed wasn't much quicker and I wasn't going for the Si.
If I had my truck before I bought the Shitvic, I would have opted for the 5 speed.
