dude, seriously, please don't give suggestions if you don't know what you are talking about. I'm sure you know a lot about hondas, maybe cars in general, but it's obvious that you don't know what you are talking about when it comes to this subject...i whould try a diffrent ecu
your right i do know alot about hondas and cars in genral but who said it was a obdo motor,so are you saying there no way a bad ecu could do that, just because someone said it was a obdo dont mean it is i would double check to make suredude, seriously, please don't give suggestions if you don't know what you are talking about. ccr88crx - your ECU is fine. Code 9 is a VERY VERY VERY common problem with obd-0 motors. The only way (that i know of) to fix a code 9 is to get another distributor. It's a sensor that usually gets thrown off whack or demagnetized in the shipping process. If you open up the distributor, you will see the magnetic sensor i'm talking about.
Anyway, swapping out your ecu won't help the code 9. Did you get your motor from hmotorsonline.com? if so, call steve and let him know you need a new distributor because the one he gave you is faulty and he'll gladly trade you a good one for your broken one. If you didn't get your motor from there, go here Distributor King : Andale Stores : JDM Distributors and buy a new one. It's kind of pricey but it's well worth it... goodluck
