Best D series Tranny?

What is the best tranny to put with a D16Z6? All motor and turbo? Can you expane in detail?

i would say the ex/si tranny is best. that's what i'm trying to get if my guy will ever reply to me.....

The 92-95 Si tranny is best for both apps...

Want detail? Here it goes...

The Si tranny has the highest gear ratio, ie it accelerates the fastest.

The EX tranny is the same thing although I heard it has a longer 5th gear.

technically..ex/si tranny has a lower gear ratio(4.250 as compared to 4.058 and 3.250)...the higher the number in the final drive the lower the gear ratio which =s better acceleration. the si has a .750 5th gear and the ex has a .702 5th gear. These tranny's also have a tighter 1-4 than your dx/lx transmissions....id say get the ex tranny if you want to save a little fuel out on the open road...

is this going in a 88-91 car? if you use the z6 flywheel youll need an 89-91 si tranny...if you use your own flywheel and clutch you will use the same year transmission as your car.

It's close, but slightly taller at .694 instead of .702.
