i have a 88 crx si with a b16a1 and i was wondering if it would make a difference if i used the b16a1 ecu over the stock computer? a friend of mine told me that it wouldn't make a difference.

isnt an 88crx si come with a 1.5L motor? single cam? i doubt it would run to its potential, Theres a reason Honda made a differant computer for that engine.

I think he means he put a b16 in it...but the crx si computer is a pm6 and I don't think that would even run the b16 since it is not obd1 and no vtec capabilities if it needs it.

B16A1 is a OBD 0 motor, just like the 88-91 rex, the computer would start and run the motor, but it would suck, so no, you want to use the B16A1 (or close facimaly((sp)) there of) on a B16A1.
