First of all I know everyone will say this is a simple swap...yes I know. 2nd, I tried to post in swap section but I was not allowed for whatever reason...I have some things I need cleared up so help without ridicule would be nice....and yes I read the archives.
So I am putting an A6 in a std hatch shell. The car has a hacked chassis harness which is now repaired back to stock condition. The engine harness is missing. I dropped the new D16A6 in and have everything mechanically done. Now starting wiring. I have the full Si engine harness ONLY. Everything I have read says that you should just do the MPFI swap on your std harness because is is "easier" but I don't have it so my question is can I just make the Si harness work (obviously would have to change plug on dr side of the engine harness to match chassis harness)? Does anyone have a link to a write up or a step by step thread using a std chassis harness and an Si engine harness? My guess is that I just have to switch a bunch of pins around on the ECU plugs and switch the plug by the resistor box on the Si harness but I need confirmation. Any help would be great. THanks.
