Will a D16Z6 head fit on a D16A1 block?

Not easily, you have to do some machining to make everything fit. By the time you do all the work, and pay for it, you could buy either engine. I don't know if your looking for a head for a d16a1, but a dohc zc head should fit on there with minimal compression difference.
