D16A6 in a 88 standard swap

pretty much i have searched around for info on swap. I have the tranny coming with it to. I would love to know if i have to change the axles out of mine for Si axles or can i use my stock axles. Also most likely i would have to go to rywire.com and send my harness and they would modify it to make the A6 run in my car and convert to DPFI to MPFI. I am doing the swap with a couple of friends and for me its venturing to uncharted waters. Can i use the existing motor mounts for the swap? Oh the real question is will i need a different ECU? PM6?

You can do the MPFI conversion yourself(it's well documented) or of course, send it to rywire. That's really up to you.

They're actually different on the knuckle end(HF and Std are smaller, Si/DX are the same), but on the transmission end they're the same. So, you'd just use whatever came with the car.

As far as automatic axles are concerned, I don't know. I've honestly never touched a automatic 88-91 Civic/CRX.

You need to convert from DPFI to MPFI (very easy!), then you need a PM6 ECU. I am assuming you already bought an Si manifold?. As for the transmission I am assuming that you purchased an Si tranny as well. So I believe you have to go with Si axles, but the only problem that persists is that you need to convert to Si hub assembly and that means taking your front suspension apart and buying a set of 88-91' Civic/CRX axles and hub assembly. I myself have the d16a6/d16y8 "mini-me" and use the Cx transmission because I won't have to switch out the hub assembly. Good luck.

Also, do you have an Si engine bay harness because if you do this will make the DPFI to MPFI swap easy. You will also need an injector resistor box for this or you will fry your injectors.

Thanks man, I didn't know that. I wanted to buy an a6 Si transmission for my swap but didn't want to have to worry about switching hub assemblies and such. I will post a thread when I receive the transmission now.

it will come with the transmission as well. i might upgrade to the Si axles and hub unless kevin tells me there is no need for itand just stay with mine. I have not checked the condition of the axles i have on my car yet that is yet to be done once i get some wrench time. I am going to assume the worst, but that wont matter since i can just get some reman ones @ parts store or used ones that are for sale. Most likely my friend is good with wiring so DPFI to MPFI. Now i need to go to the for sale threads and watch out for PM6 ECU's. I would think that it will need a scan tool to program it ^_^
