As for head gaskets, your going to have to get a heavier duty one like some kind of metal, otherwise at higher boosts stock ones are going to blow.
For heat, i read this in some mag this month (i'll find the article) they have a special spray on paint that you put on the under side of your hood that will block some of the heat. You might want to look into some way to let some air in there like taking out your fog lights for the track (plus knocks off 6 pounds) or maybe look at a oem style cf hood but with vents in them (dont go wild) but i am not sure how eazy it would be to paint (keep the non-rice them going)
