Ok just to clarify... I can go to phearable or xenocron and order an ecu and specify what I want done to it and they ship it to me? What's the difference between what I want and tuning?

tuning involves adjusting the air/fuel maps. if your motor is basically stock, there's no need for any of that. And you'd want it done on a dyno with a wideband o2 at the very least to monitor

the ecu has a 'program' on it to run the fueling mixture. it is called a map. a 'default' or 'generic' one is generally referred to as a basemap, as that's where you start from. kinda like base camp going up Everest. sometimes basemaps are made for X motor with Y mods that a tuner THINKS will limp your car to the tuning session so you don't have to tow it. It is not meant to be driving on permanently.

but if you're stock and the ecu map is stock, minus a sensor turn off, you'll be fine long term
