gasket question

I recently replaced my valve cover gasket and it looks to have a little oil residue on the outside of the gasket even though I cleaned the area thoroughly. A friend of mine said that a little wetness is normal, just not excessive. is it common for a rubber gasket to be a little wet?

Use a little hondabond on the corners and cam seals and make sure all the studs are torqued to spec.

if you over torque it will leak
