not a big deal, but last saturday i got promoted to Lance Corporal (E-3). I am in the reserves, and when i went in for the drill weekend they told me i was getting pinned that day. we were out there in formation on saturday, and i didnt have the chevrons to be pinned with so the sergeant major jacked em off another Lcpl for me to use.

and for you all wondering, yes i got many hits in the shoulders with the bare pins, but it was all worht it

feels good not being a PFC anymore, but really no difference.

now i am gonna work my ass off to get corporal hopefully within a year.

congrats man...yea E-3 aint' shit lol.

so how does the promotion cycles compare with active? is it TIS and TIG still the determining factors for all ranks before NCO??

yea i think E-2 to E-3 was TIG, but i am not sure. i thought it was TIS, but everyone else said TIG. I have been in for 9 months, and i was a contract PFC, which means i was E-2 going in, so i have been in for 9 months, and an E-2 for 9 months. so that makes it a little harder to figure out if its TIG or TIS.

All i know is im not satisfied until i hit NCO. then it will be kinda cool

nice!! e3... i was e2 when i got discharged from the army.
