Help on head Replacement on a B18c1?

I need help... Im changing the head of my b18c1 and will be putting another same b18c1 head but from a junk teg that has been standing for about 2 years. But what are the steps to do this. To better explain this do I have to take the head to a machinist to get it clean or can I clean It myself, check for any damage, buy a gasket, and install it and torque it. What step am i missing. I know this question can be stupid but im just a noob still..

I machine shop can cheack for arpage, you can check yourself too though. If you're patient enough you can clean it yourself, or you can just pay and have it done.
