Low Oil Pressure on Cold Start?

It seems as if on a cold start I have low oil pressure. On a cold start the oil pressure light will stay on for .5-1 second (on every other car I drive it turns off instantly). If I listen closely I can hear a soft knocking. Once .5 - 1 second passes the light goes away and the knocking subsides. The oil pressure light never comes on at idle or flckers, only on cold starts. On a warm start the light goes away almost instantly. Is this a sign my motor is on its way out? Maybe a bad oil pump? Heaver oil or Lucas oil treatment? I have also heard a bad oil filter can cause this?

Anyone have any sugestions?

I am running 10W-40 w\ valuecraft filter btw

Sounds oil pump, but change the filter and see, could be nothing.
