will i have to do any mods to ls rods when using itr pistons and if so what

Yes, you'll have to shave 1mm off each side. Just use PR3 (B16A) pistons. 10.4:1 compression, they bolt perfectly to LS rods, and they're teh cheaper than ITR's. USDM ITR's are lower compression than B16's anyways.
