hi, i was wondering....if the ls (b18b g2) is in good shape would i still have to hone in the walls or can i just do a quick piston swap. i mean good shape as in...it still runs strong and has been leak down compression tested and still has close to stock compression and no leaks whatsoever. and no scars.
i just need advice from people who's done this before.
thanks

I have never done it myself, but I have quite a few friends that swap pistons all the time and they at least do a quick little hone job before installing them.

Always hone your walls to make sure your new rings have something to wear in against and lubricate themselves with.

i wonder...would a little honing mess with my bore or would it be ok.
