So I've been reading the posts about retarding the timing of ignition .75* per pound of boost being produced to avoid predetonation. I have always read about MSD's BTM being used when using the VFAC hack and other crude means of controlling the turbo (in comparison to the Hondata system) So my question is:

Is it still a good idea to run the BTM if you are going with a Hondata controlled setup? Or is it just overkill and unnecessary?

I want to do this as best as I can and I can just save up for a few more months to run the turbo setup and get the BTM. I just really want to know if its worth the time/money. The setup by the way is as follows:

1g DSM BOV, 14b turbo, intercooler, injectors
Hondata, custom downpipe, home made charge lines and custom manifold.

I really am going for low boost on a small turbo, so I don't expect much. At best I would like to keep up with Pills...

useless. hondata does this, and much more. in stead of just X per psi, you can set it X per rev, per fuel percentage, and per psi.
