definately cant wait for you to be smoke free. :D

Me too! Good luck B! I need to start exercising myself... so thanks for getting me motivated. :)

Bah, fuck it all--you lose weight to look good for chicks, you land a decent one, then you both get fat in 3 years after getting married. I have proof (way too much) on this.

One should lose weight/get in shape/stop smoking for one's self... not for anyone else. Being in good health is important, who wants to be popping Lipitor in their old age? I know too many older people that have to take several pills every day. Overweight people have a tendency to develop diabetes in their old age... smokers get lung cancer or emphysema (sp?). So that's not going to be me.

Being dead > breathing through a tube when you are 90. I'll cya in heaven, I'll just get there faster. :)

I dont know how old this post is, but take it from someone who loves health/fitness and has done it all...its all about the gross amount of calories you take in vs what you burn.

Problem most Americans have is that they overestimate the amount of calories they burn and underestimate the calories they take in.

If you eat less calories than you burn, it is IMPOSSIBLE not to lose weight.

fitday.com has calories for basically every food

and search for a bmr calculator online to see about how many calories you need to take in a day. Probably somewhere around 2500 to lose weight for you.

holy thread from the dead... ok now that that is over...

So now that this is about a month and a half old... uh any progress.. or did you give up again?

That sux. You need to work on your motivation. I'm still working out four days a week. I've lost 15 lbs, and I'm lifting much more. It's only been 3 months so far.

Try again B. I've found that eating more fruit isn't just healthier for me, but it helps my energy level quite a bit. Since I don't work out until after work, this is very helpful to me.

Why can't you be more like me, Brian?

I workut 6-7 times a week, running for 1 mile, riding a bike for 4-6, and then doing shoulder/chest/back routines. SLACKER.

Boy it sucks being fat, I hate it. Im like 6'1'' 265-275lbs. and I really wanna lose weight. My plan was to lose 50lbs. over the summer but that never worked out. I guess Im just lazy. I used to work out 5 days a week and now i feel like Im losing muscle that I gained when I was workin out. And to add to the already fat ass exterior I am a smoker as well, about a pack a day. I know I really need to quit but its extremely hard for me. What i really need is help with a good, easy to follow diet plan. I know to lose fat i gotta run a eat healthy so if anyone can help me out with this i will be very greatful. Oh yea, i wanna lose about 50lbs. of fat in 3-5months if that is possible.

BTW- sorry about the threadjacking pissedoff :worthy:

all it takes is a steady workout regiment and a good diet to see results.
Most people try to do too much at once and end up frustrating themselves or give up.

also working out without eating properly is like building a 500hp civic and giving it 89 octane gas, not gonna work like you want
