while the eng is cold, take the cap off the rad. and let it idle. After the
thermostat opens, you will see a flow of water with some air bubbles.
wait till the bubbles are gone, replace cap

it'll be easier than completely changing the fluid too.. and its free.. so if that doesnt work, its something else

yes.. but to be sure before you rip it apart to replace it, spray carb cleaner like i said before..

check for air in the coolant first

yeah, that was my plan.
if i end up replacing the gasket, does that shit from permatex work well or should i buy a gasket?

gasket is $15 i think.. just buy a new one.. gotta make sure all the excess gasket is off the manifold and head first though

i hate changing the IM gasket.. its a pita to get to the nuts on the bottom side of the manifold.. but yea, its fairly easy

well, i flushed the coolant and shit, and it definitely helped the idle, its not fluctuating as much anymore.
i didnt mess with it for long, but i think i just need to turn the idle down now, cuz it at like 1300.

you didnt try and bubble it out first.. :shakeshead: ...
