Question about surging idle.

while the eng is cold, take the cap off the rad. and let it idle. After the
thermostat opens, you will see a flow of water with some air bubbles.
wait till the bubbles are gone, replace cap

Define, bubble it out, please. I might not know what that is, unless I just call it sumthin else.

when im in park or neutral its at 4000rpms but when im in drive, reverse, s and second, its at like 1500.
its somewhat steady now.
after i drained the coolant.

i'm guessing its your idle screw now

i adjusted it, it didnt start, so i turned it up a little bit and it did the same thing.
