swappable distributors

i was wondering if you could swap out distributors on a d15b7 head and have it work on a z6, my z6 distributor is messed up and throws a tdc code all the time but my girlfriend has a d15b7 that shes junking and it has a shiny brand new $200 distributor could it work on my mini-me set up?. i want to get rid of this cell im throwing and see if my dis. is really my problem.
