I just got my DC TIG up and running. Hell of a lot easier than SMAW and FCAW. To my surprise, the Chinese $300 120A DC TIG machine actually has HF start. I paid almost as much for the gas cylinder, lol.
The old 0.35 MIG wire isn't cutting it as a filler rod. What should I be using? I'm just welding mild-steel to get some experience before I do anything crazy.
My goal is to build a trailer by winter.
So far, I recognized that I need to weld inside so the gas doesn't blow around, and I need to keep the arc shorter.
I'll get some pictures here in a bit.
I had to put a 240V receptacle into the garage. That wasn't hard, but just took time. Had to use 10ga wire to the breaker panel, all 30 feet, lol.
