tranny internals swap

have a friend that has a b16 tranny that has a cracked housing, what i want to know is can you take the internals out from the b16 and put it into a b18 tranny from a 91 da integra? any info will be great.

Unbelievable! I have the same problem. B16a1 tranny (cable tranny) is cracked and leaking and I have a B18a1 ls tranny that has bad third gear. I don't want the ls gearing so I hope that I can use the b16 internals in the b18 housing. Thanks in advance.

I've never heard of them being different; but if the shafts don't fit you can always just swap the gear sets.
