Blowing in? I'd say they're good blowing air out. Cold air is pulled in through the back center of the rotor anyways. This will pull hot air away from the brakes and components under the car. Also, anytime you can evacuate air from under the car aids in reducing lift.
for best brake cooling...you want the air to flow away from the wheel...which is bolted onto the rotor...which is hot. The aluminum hub of the wheel that's absorbing most of the heat from the steel disk is what needs cooled. And then add a duct from the front of the car to replenish fresh air over the area...done.
