Vtec question

My friend just bought a 93 civic ex (Non-vtec). What does he need to do to make his car a vtec? Is this simple to do? Thanks

Yeah if its got the stock engine (d16z6) it has vtec(y0)

My brothers ex doesn't say "vtec" on it which confused me at first then I read the block and it said z6 and i was all liek

But since Im L33T I noticed the vtec solenoid

oh ok... so the z6 does has vtec cool.

easyest way to tell look at where the oil cap is if its on the front right corner its non if its on the back left it is

yes the d16z6,can come with one of two valve covers depending on the year, my z6 swap came out of a 93 ex and the valve cover just says
