So i got about 300 to spend on my car, so its wither the choices of headers, exaust, or intake. what do i pick? does headers change the sound of your engine or what? performance wise i tihink i would probably pick headers. Just to throw this in , do any of you know actually how much a 1990 crx si weighs in at? appreciate any info. thanks

my hf weighs in at 1800 or close to it. I heard a SI is around 1-2 lbs heavier i think. Yes putting a header on it going to make your motor louder. You should get a ebay intake for 15-20. there is only one bolt on exhaust i would ever buy and thats a RSR. Other then that i would make your own. i did intake headers and exhaust on my b16 crx and it roars like no tomorrow.

i am a cheap bastard when it comes to bolt ons....(not with tuning)

any way....i bought a cheap 4-1 ceramic header on ebay with custom 2.25 exhaust, 3 resonators, flex pipe, nocat, 35 dollar fart can w/ silencer...sounds good and it cost me 400 everything....cant beat that...btw the headers were just as big as my boys jdm type r header....

thats what your budget could get you....or just a header

100-200lbs right? my 88 CRX DX is suppose to be around 1900lbs stock; the newer ones are heavier i think.

WELL, IF YOU WANT PERFORMANCE, GET AN INTAKE AND HEADER, AND WHEN YOU HAVE MORE CASH LATER, GET THE EXHAUST, PREFERABLY THE RSR. GOOD LUCK YO!

^^^^^^^^^^I tHINKyour CAPS LOCK buttoN IS StiCKING.

I agree with the ebay headers.. Just get a DC knockoff, unless you live in an area where they salt the roads alot.

Take the money saved and buy a name brand intake, or a no name intake and a name brand filter. Don't skimp on the filter!

1990 CRX Weights (This IS from the reference section guys, check it out)
HF = 1967 lbs
DX = 2103 lbs
Si = 2174 lbs

Dont buy a name brand intake, your paying way too much for the tube. Get an Ebay intake, shoot the filter it came with with a shotgun or sell it to a ricer for what you paid for the intake, then put a name brand filter on there.

ebay intake tube, k&n filter, custom exhaust. The header can always come later. You get what you pay for. So if an ebay header is just as good as a the decent quality dc header? Then the ssautochrome manifoldis just as good as a full-race manifold? doubt it. The size, shape and material all make a difference. Also look into the collector size.

sigh... again... its in the damn reference section, but to end this argument right now;

1988 CRX's
HF = 1819
DX = 1922
Si = 2017

1989 CRX's
HF = 1834
DX = 2048
Si = 2138

And before you post anymore "I'm pretty sure its..." posts, https://hondaswap.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29355

apparently your comment here of an si being 1-2 lbs heavier is incorrect.

if i were building this si i would go with a k an n drop in filter and get a decent header that wont rust apart like maybe a greddy or something. you get what you pay for guys, i agree about the intake to an extent but when your looking to make real power i would go with something better than ebay.

okay you got me there it should be 100 to 200 heavier. So kudoes to you vtecsir. haha
