im glad you posted this i was just about to ask a question on the topic, im not up to date on all this bs, could someone in a nutshell tell me what this new health care will mean, for ppl with and with out insurance
so your saying if you have a job but no insurance you have to get it or be fined ? but if your just a bum with no job then insurance will be free to you ?In a nutshell, if you have insurance through your employer, nothing changes. You continue to pay your premiums out of pocket through payroll deductions. Supposedly the premiums are going to decrease. I highly doubt that will happen.
If you for some reason are a responsible citizen who has decided of your own free will NOT to have insurance because you don't care, you are now required to purchase insurance, and risk possible fines/imprisonment for failing to do so. I imagine they will somehow manage to leverage your tax refunds or some other source of income to get it from you.
If you are, for lack of a more tactful word, a failure at life with no job, desire for a job, basically, collecting welfare and making babies, your insurance will be provided to you, at no cost to yourself, compliments of the taxpayers.
I believe what Jeffie is talking about is that small businesses will now be required to offer insurance to all their employees. The problem being that it is a HUGE added expense for a business to pay, and that money has to come from somewhere, most likely in the form of reduced wages/salaries.
I may have missed a few things, but I think that's the gist of it.
