What are Fuel Canards and Splitters?

This might be a stupid question but what exactly are Fuel Canards and splitters? are they just something to make the car look better and how exactly are u supposed to put them on????

could be a "top fuel canard" top fuel is a japanese company.. canards are the things that go on the front bumper, where it starts to wrap around. they go about 1/2 ay up the bumper..

splitters are basically called "air splitters"...the oncoming air that hits your bumper,is split,and divided by the splitter...and basically it bolts onto your front bumper...personally i like the middle splitter..cus it goes under the whole front end..and it bolts up to your front bumper with two big metal rods.

canards are pretty much wings for your front bumper. air splitters are just "lips" or flat material place under the bumper to speed air velocity. both of them help create downforce.
