I bought my JDM D15B vtec as a "130 hp" engine but I believe only the 3 stage vtec motor produces 130, the other D15B vtec makes 94 or somthing like that how can I tell which engine I have? I think that I might've been misled

there are two d15bs and i personally dont know how to see which one you have. i know one is a 3-stage (he used the correct term) and then the other is the normal 2-stage vtec.

the 2 stage is a 92-95 year motor, and the 3 stage is a 96-99 motor. keep in mind these are JDM d15b's only.

one helpful tip to see if yours is a 3-stage, it will have two VTEC switches (yes, two of them)

there you have it. 2 vtec switches is the way to tell. They look like a greyish brown stove top hat. looks like they are side by side.
