What is IACV?

Can some please explain what the IACV thing is?

the iacv( or eacv ) is an electronic device used to control the engine's idle speed according to several factors which include but are not limited to engine temperature and intake air temperature.

If you take it off, make sure you re-install a oring between the IAC and the IM cuase it will leak and mess up your idle. Just my 2 cents worth yO'
