Default 78 cvcc build thread

Flame if you wish, I got my fire proof jacket on. But I AM putting this D16A1 into my 78 civic. I'll try and keep this post updated, but progress may be slow cuz i gotta drive 30 miles to get to the garage. Anyway enjoy the pics!

Wiring's gonna be a bitch, I know.

I have a set of MINT ultralites for this.. 13" x6.5 . Lemme know if you're interested.

Also, great find. The usual Colorado Gold that I remember.

If anyone flames you...just let me know....

Screw the wire's..., just get the mechanicals set in and fabed, and run some side draft carbs and a stand alone ignition...the sound alone will make it a monster. Plus try to keep the interior as stock as posible...and it will be a sweet sleeper. I wanted to do this swap... but I got too many projects already.

And some old watananabe rims FTW....

what is the point of dropping in THAT particular motor? why didnt you fix the leaky seals first?

im all for dropping the motor in the little civic, but its going to look like an oil pit.

if you haven't noticed.....the engine is not in the old shell yet...I'm sure that when he does get the swap under construction that he will clean it up and fix all the little quirks that needs to be done to the swapped in motor before he drops it in.....

but as all swaps done here....except a few...a honda going for more power...so it's all good. It's the final product that matters....

I'm sure if this kid wants too...he could critique your swaps..... But since were all after the same thing...more power or better performance in a car that is buildable...then were all on the same webpage....

Hell...look at my driveway....too many possibilities just sitting there waiting for money and time.... (btw...I got some money coming...now to buy some parts and find some time.....hehe, I wonder what I could do with 6 boners?....it's going to be a long winter)

ahh my mistake. i didnt notice it was still in the donor car.

i just dont get putting a dirty as hell motor in that leaks oil/coolant/etc into another car. while the motor is out, its so easy to fix those things!

hey, critique my swaps all you want i cleaned the shit out of my motor and it still looks dirty. the top end is very pretty, though

could you imagine a semi-built D in that thing? vtec?

talk about a sleeper... even with the a1 it'll be sick, but put down 130 to the wheels and you've got yourself a near-13 sec car

yeah, ur compliments are a bit premature. I have pulled the engine out of the integra and am now in the process of tearing it down and resealing it. I'll post pics of the progress I'm makin this weekend when i get to work monday. took out the ENTIRE wiring harness. Damn there's a LOT of wires! I'm trimmin it down to the bare essentials, but still, damn. My buddy's got a home paint booth set up and I'm debating what color to paint the CVCC. I'd like to do a retro 70's paint theme, but can't decide what would look good.

Paint it an old-school highschool cafeteria tray orange color...something like this:

i'mma see if i can find a picture of a car with something similar to that paint color...I almost want to say some of the older Hondas came in the color I'm thinking of...

edit: THIS color:

Looking forward to the final product!

and on that orange paint, definantly reminds me of the 60s/70s(if not orange, then that darkish green)
