I'd rather not spend 100 bucks on a headgasket with +.020 over bore. Does anyone know where I can get one for cheaper than that? its for a D16Z6 bored to 75.5mm (.020 over)

Or

Has anyone ever modified a regular bored one to fit? It would only be a quarter of a millimeter around the edge. I figured a dremel would work but I'm worried it would weaken the headgasket. O and my CR will be around 11:1
Thanks guys.

yeah good luck finding one for cheap. i just went on a search for a 84.5mm hg for my b20vtec build.... ended up paying $100 for golden eagle, came in oem honda packaging.

Just pay the money, no DIY head gasket job is worth doing. $100 is not bad considering you might spend $500 or more fixing your mistakes.

I kept looking and can't find any good deals, so Imma just pay the extra dough for an unmolested & reliable job. Thanks guys

IIRC, stock D-series head gaskets already have like a 75.5mm bore.

No, 75.5mm, because people have already measured(many OE replacements are around 76mm).. :p

If you never noticed, Honda sells OS pistons up to .5mm, but they do not sell "OS Headgaskets".

I actually have an old gasket laying around somewhere(just the metal part though), but the caliper I have is not accurate(plastic one....my other one broke when I left it on top of my brother's car and he drove off).

The info may be on Onecamonly.com...may be in one of the stickied threads. If not, you can always ask. Plenty of guys with calipers on there.

Did you get it measured? That would be SWEET if it was 75.5! Save me a good $45 :)

AWESOME! Thanks sir! Do you know who made the one you measured? I'll pick up a felpro and measure it. Thanks

Felpro.

It's the one they make for the d16y7, d16y8, and a billion other honda engines, lol.
