Thanks ... im a senior in high school finishing government as i type this ...

it might be because its fresh on my mind, but todays government is incresingly starting to irritate me.

sadly no there is no hope. I deal with the future generation Daily ... and they only get worse ...

it is really sad ... im hoping that alot of them end up with the insight i do but most of them are growing up into bleeding out of the ass socialist liberal pussies. I cant stand it. I am the only one that assosciates my self with the republican party at my school (200 people or so)

i think that has alot to do though with the fact that my school is predominatly a buch of Minorities being taught to ride the welfare system.

and they just lo0ove Hillary and Obama.

eh ... Obama and Hillary are socialist pricks ...

every commercial break last night during american idol he had something to say bout fixing the government to increase health care ....

FUCK THAT ... First of the problem is not so much with the government as it is with all the fucking idiots in america that are will sue over anything. Doctors have to charge incredibly large sums because of the fact that if anything happens whether in or out of there controll some dumbass is gonna sue them for malpractice for thousands of dollars.

Second the problem is with the Judical system actually letting these dumbasses win these completely ridiculous law suits.

third, If you got of your lazy ass and went to school and got a decent job and insurance you would have the money nedded. but no, They were taught there whole life that they can ride the government welfare and medicare Systems and not do anything, but still get the medical attention, that frankly, they dont even deserve.

All that Obama, or Hillary for that matter will do, is Increase taxes to take the Hard earned money of Productive citizens to keep the economic leaches alive.

I can understand a bit of government help for those seriously in need a few times. But i feel that there should be a limit to how much help you can get. If you want socialist government programs go to fucking Canada or Europe. People think "oh America the land of the free and home of liberty" yeah ... its free because people got off of there asses and got shit done. Freedom and liberty and happiness doesnt Just come to you. Stop trying to strip American citizens of there own liberty and right to there hard earned money because your a worthless peice of garbage.

I dis agree completely me being the tree hugging liberal I am. (Not really liberal).Understanding Negligence, torts, and such, you wouldn't voice an opinion not taking reference to all the serious amounts of mistakes doctors make. Yes, there are some fraudulent cases. But there are more serious cases than fraudulent. Should the people not be compensated for the excruiciating pain they live for the rest of their lives because of a mistake someone made? My mom has an item floating around in her(I forgot what specifically to this moment) and has had so many surgeries over the years that there is no way she could pin point which one its from now. Does it cause her excruciating pain? YES. Does she have so much scar tissue built up from different surgeries that it would be worse to open her up again for something? Yes. On top of this, she is disabled. She can't work. She has no one besides me. Should she be on the streets because of this? Because of your attitude? If you're looking out for the rich guy and big business for your "trickle down effects", in a few years she will be if I don't support her 100%. Now please. Open your ignorant eyes.

I don't care what you have to say about it, but without some of the programs these "liberals" have put in place, life would be a whole lot different for me right now.

I think about 88% of this board should read the appeal. It's a fictionous novel, but is based on our election system and how big business owns people. I'd suggest looking into.

See, this is EXACTLY it.

FDR, JFK, and lincoln were all horrible presidents. (i can see steve looking for the reply button already!)

let's see how these 'great' presidents fucked up America.

FDR:

took us off the gold standard (so basically it's his fault for national debt in the first place... he printed money with no backing to 'help' the economy, when all that happened was inflation skyrocketed.)
The New Deal has pretty much set up our country up for the pile of shit we're in now with social security, and all the other big government policies that were supposed to be temporary but never removed because they weren't built with removal in mind in the first place
He might have been ok with WWII and all that, but his domestic polices were a pile of shit.

Did I mention he was a cocky bastard too? because he had to stay in office and break tradition, they had to make an amendment to make sure no other ass hat would do that again. You know you f'ed up big time if congress ratifies an amendment after what you did.

JFK:

"fuck" sums him up.

Really, what DID he do besides cheat on his wife and fuck Marlyn Monroe, fuck up relations with Cuba so we can't get a god damn decent cigar, and got shot in the fucking neck? he's popular for no damn good reason other than all the ladies of the era thought he was hot and he got assassinated.
"You're nobody 'till somebody kills you" -- biggie
Space program? hardly "JFK did it". NASA was around before him, and probably would've made it to space anyway with or without jfk doing nothing.

Lincoln:

The south had the right to secede from the union. Hell, in 1789, all 13 states seceded from the articles of confederation and took on the constitution with the same resolve -- that they could leave peacefully if the new document wasn't working.

So, technically, Lincoln violated our constitution for declaring war on a peaceful withdrawal.

Slavery? simply a by-product of the illegal war (sound familiar??) He wanted to hurt the south. by starting a rebellion of slaves, he used it as leverage.

I love ya man, but your politcal views are wack. I cant believe that you think FDR was a bad president.

EPOCH FAIL!

I agree, It is awful that this happens to good people. The doctor responsible should be punished and held accountable for his actions. but tell me ...

How much money will make that pain go away? no amount will.

Your doing the right thing helping your Mother, thats what family is for. I never said once there should be no medicare or welfare, i said it should be limited. limited to those whoe need it for resons outside of there control, Not those who have chronic laziness. And do you think its fair that because a doctors mess up that the citizens of a country should have to pay?

And for every legitimate malpractice suit there are many more people out there just trying to get money and sue for any and every reson they find so that they can buy a nice car or get a bigger house that they do not deserve.

The result is that those who do work hard and maybe dont earn enough for these rediculous medical bills suffer as well.

Um. Like I said before you should learn how malpractice suits go. It's a term of negligence. A tort if you will. First on the table is Medical Costs. 2nd on the table is Lost Wages, meaning one's earning capacity. Finally left on the table is Punitive Damages, what should be limited I believe.

Let's say bobby get's in a car wreck. He has severe head trauma. Doctor reads the wrong xray in the er. (this is a seriously common mistake) Bobby then has a seizure, massive brain swelling, the works. He's in the hospital for 3 months, and never leads a normal life when he gets out. After his brain surgery, and 3 months in the hospital stay the family is hit with a 500k medical bill. (this is not unheard of). Should his family not sue because someone could have prevented everything by reading the right xray in the first place?

1st. thing on the table. Medical costs.
2nd thing on the table. His lost earnings(he was a child and never earned so its much lower than a man in his 20's where they're at a maximum.
3rd. Should he not be compensated for never being able to lead a normal life and for having brain damage for someone else's mistake? He has to live for 60-70 years not being able to even do the things that you and I take for granted because someone else screwed the pooch.

No amount of money will ever make the pain go away. But let's be honest. Someone should be compensated for someone else's misdoing's.

The worst part about this is the lawyers. They will take 35% of this and then siphon it around to avoid taxes.

:werd:

Social welfare programs need to be trimmed back and better regulated, so that they're only benefiting people like your mother, who is disabled, can't work, and actually needs help.

How many people out there are riding on welfare when they could be working? How many people out there are suing for malpractice when it's unwarranted, just because they're greedy?

I have absolutely no problem with government assistance for people who can't truly help themselves otherwise, but the leeching needs to stop, asap...

thanks for helping me out Brutal ... thats exactly what i was trying to say.

obama is a little better than hillary.

hillary wants government mandated healthacare.
obama wants government stipend/fuding of private health care to make it more affordable.

While both will cost me more money so Juan Q Illegal can see a doctor on the cheap, I'd rather still be able to pick my doctor (via obama) than go where hitlery tells me to go.

FDR started social security in the depression because 50% of the population lost EVERYTHING they had, and it was NEVER meant to last. It was meant to help out during the depression and the depression only.
Then, some democrat thought it would be a good socialistic plan to start charging the working class to pay for it and continue it on.

So, pretty much america has been headed towards the debt and pile of shit we're in since the 1930's.

you'd think in those 80-odd years that someone would have caught it and fixed the problem before it got out of control....

obama > Hillary thats for sure ... but both = crap

so its more like Crap > Crap

What pisses me off is that it's going to end up being a senator versus a senator, a job that (in my personal opinion anyway) doesn't exactly qualify you to be be President.

I didn't agree with Romney on everything, but at least someone like that has executive experience, both as a CEO and as a governor. He's proven that he can lead successfully. I'd feel more confident about that then I would about having McCain, Clinton, or Obama in office...

Of those three, I think I'd actually prefer Obama, just because he seems to have the most integrity out of all of them.

so first you call him a douchebag for getting us off the gold standard (even though it had to be done to revitalize the economy) and then you say his SS plan was amazing in the 30s cause it helped a lot of people get back on their feet. In the 30s FDR was a great president. No decision like that could ever hope to stand the test of time, but for some reason it just never went away.

you cant blame fdr for shit that didnt happen after he died.

but you also have to remember the presidential power of appointment. Obama might not be that bad ... but what about who he sets in the Bureaucracy. His advisers could end up being extreme left wing wackos that hurt American liberties even more. And even worse, what if a Supreme Court Justice resigns? that just means a Lasting increased liberal influence in America. Nothing against liberals as people. We need more conservative power to at least keep America from regressing any more. And Even though Obama might be the better choice now. McCain might end up better in the long run??? I need to do more research on the candidates but as of this moment thats how i feel, but of course this could all change for me a few days from now.

Yeah, that's true. At least McCain's appointees would probably be more on the conservative side. Good point.
