Here's my car. I'm going to turbo and build it up.
Let me start this off with some technical data on the engine in my car:
Note that this engine is the un-restricted version, I had the restricted version, which had a restrictor plate in-between the throttle body and intake manifold
Your mild-mannered honda EJ9 (pretty much the same as the EK9 or EK4). I've finally decided to put a turbo on it, and throw about 5 pounds of boost on it. Should be alright, without any engine work. I may put a block-guard, or post it, but I don't know yet. I'm still early in the build. So far, I've done nothing to the internals, only external things, I/H/E, and a tune. I'm not removing the AC, PS, or anything else. I get migraines and I need the AC, and removing or disabling power steering is extremely stupid for the autobahns and illegal here.
The whole reason that prompted me to do this, is that I drive 180km or more a day, just getting to and from work, and I'd like a little more power, but also the low pressure turbo make the engine more efficient, thus using less fuel. Less fuel used by the car, means I can afford more fuel for the bike.

So far:
Honda d16y8 intake manifold and throttle body
Honda 185cc injectors (stock for my engine)
S40 transmission (more on this later)
Hondata Intake Gasket
Walboro 255 Fuel Pump
Megan Racing N1 replica muffler (With some pot-scrubbers stuffed in it to cut down on some of the noise)
Megan Racing Exhaust
Megan Racing Headers
OBX catalytic converter (to be kind to the trees and animals, and to pass inspection)
AEM d16y7 CAI bottom-half
eBay no-name d16y7 CAI top-half hacksaw'd to work with the y8 manifold
Hondata s300
And finally:
Uniroyal Summer Rain tires on some Aluminum rims
Ok, so now that you have met, let me get into some specifics. This car was bought from someone who babied it. So although it's got rust on the exposed parts in the engine bay, it's still a baby. I don't drive it hard, but I drive it long.
The EJ9 had two choices of engine:
1.4l 75HP
1.4l 90HP
The only difference between them is the restrictor-plate in-between the throttle body and the intake manifold. Both of these engines are extremely similar to the d16y7, they have the downward facing throttle body, and the same general anatomy. This engine has a higher compression than most, due to the use of a two-layer head gasket. Everything in this engine-bay is the same as the US counterpart, with the exception of: the engine internals, the displacement of the block, and the headlights. This makes it easy to buy parts. The cam is extremely similar to the y7 cam from what I've read, although I don't have one to compare with.
My transmission is also kinda funny, it's got wierd ratios, and final drive:
^^ To the best of my knowledge this is correct, which isn't to say it's not correct.
I'm going to turbo it with a T25, probably 3-5 pounds of boost. I'm thinking about a block-guard, but I'd like to stay away from them because of the hot-spot issues associated with them, so I might post the block.
So far, here's my shopping list/ideas:
T25 - bought, going to modify the wastegate to 5psi
T25 manifold (maybe an HF with an adapter plate, or a cast, or even an e-bay ssautochrome)
Downpipe, probably something from eBay, as I can always inspect and repair welds.
3.8 PSI blow off valve, modified to recirculate
boost solenoid, Don't know what brand yet, need suggestions, hooked into my s300
SS oil and water lines to the turbo, water from the TB barbs, and oil from the pressure sender hole with a T
Black aluminum charge piping
eBay Intercooler, I'm going to paint it black, and mount it in the traditional intercooler position, right under the license-plate bracket, going for the stealth look.
310cc injectors ?, need help with this, I don't know if I really need to go aftermarket on this one, or even this big. I've got 185cc now, and I think 240cc honda injectors might do it with the low-power goal I'm looking for.
I figure that since my ebay headers have lasted so long, I'll take the chance with an eBay manifold; I can always inspect and fix an eBay intercooler, and an eBay downpipe if needed. The few things I will buy new and name-brand are the blow off valve, and the injectors.
Questions, comments, flames, reading material? Give it to me.
(Yes, I know it's filthy. And I'm planning on cleaning up the VC sometime soon.)
