Capitalistic Representative government is prone to greed, corruption, and taking advantage of poor people.
Socialistic Democratic government is prone to laziness, degeneration, and taking advantage of productive people.

I don't know what the answer is, but it's not anything that we've already tried. And the balancing act between the two seems to be giving us the worst of both.
Well said.

I like Huckabee personally..

religious nut bag. if he dropped half of that, he would have had a better chance.

he would ruin separation of church/state worse than it already is

That is the biggest reason why he did not get a lot more support than he did.

I like his economical policy ideas.

He is against the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve OWNS this country. They decide who gets elected.

ron paul is over and done with. he's 78 now. he'll simply be too old to run again.

dwelling on it will get us no where.

what we need is a new candidate who can appeal to liberal hippies, but actually has a clue.

so, basically, we need a black republican with a clue type candidate.
the liberals will vote on his useless to government features (race/orientation) and the rest of us will vote on who can fix this f'ed up country.

yep that article pretty much nails it

he has his good ideas... then he has his ideas that make him come across as an out of his mind delusional old whack job

in short, he is not well marketable... and not something most people would want even if a way of marketing him was found

So Ron Paul was for all these radical ideas, but people act like if he became President, he would wave his hand, make some decree, and all these things would suddenly happen. He of all people understands that he doesn't have that kind of power; those are just his goals and ideals. He still has two other branches of government to work through to see his ideas through, and they'd obviously be modified and tempered along the way.

Maybe Ron just assumes everyone is smart enough to realize that.

My mistake, I assumed you vote for someone because of their goals and ideals. Not because of what the other branches of government would approve..

according to all of his rabid supporters spouting off on internet sites

maybe everyone is smart enough to realize that if you have someone who is considered to be bat shit crazy from either angle, he isnt going to have support from either side, and wont be able to get a single fucking thing done....
ron paul was essentially a 3rd party candidate even though he tried to run as a republican, he might as well have been ralph nader
