Alright so i am new to the website and literally signed up 2 minutes ago. Any way my names mike

and i am 17 years old. I got expelled from school for weed and for those 5 months i got a job and

saved every penny. I made $3,500 after saving yayyyyy. Ok so i really love fast cars and i dont know

why but i had an urge to buy a car asap. I went on craigslist and saw a 92 civc hatchback . The

guys had it b16 turbo and drag raced it. They seemed very ligit . The car is guted out and has nothing

at all except an ls motor with gsr tranny and skunk 2 coilovers and brand new exedy clutch. I

bought it for 2,800 and bought his friends exhuast and pipe for 100 bucks cause the car didnt

have one. He said it was all freshly rebuilt and motor has 300 miles same with tranny. LEt me

know if i got ripped off please ,alot of people keep telling me my car looks like crap ):

any way i just want some suggestings and things i should do to the car to make it legal or if its

able to have historic tags idk. i just need help to make it faster or what should i do?

for your first car its perfect.. replace the front and rear bumpers and save for a Maaco paintjob and i say you got a winner.. it may not be fast fast.. but it should be reliable

It's not bad at all for your first car. Doesn't look like it's rusting anywhere, that in itself makes it a good buy. Especially for how much an older Civic goes for in my area.

Maybe you should take a pic of that "green stuff" I mean the stuff around your battery. It might be leaking, you sure it wasn't coolant spraying around from a pin hole in a hose?

In PA you could do Classic/Historic for sure. You probably won't like whatever limitations your state puts on when/how much you can drive your car though.

Green Slime under the battery? Like coolant explosion and it settled in the battery tray?

You wrote that it will not start? If you bought it knowing it don't start...........not so good of a deal at $2900.

@ GlassHeadlights - hi are you the same as meee???? :]

@ Korax - no rust , maybe the spots that have been sanded but not even a big deal so im pretty happy. The cuts on the bumper is what got me because im sure here in MD we need the full bumpers for inspection . Meaning i need new ones ): Oh and a side skirt . The green stuff was from the battery leaking i think . i replaced it today and now the car sounds great. $119... crazy. im trying to get historic tags on it bad, idk how though so im currently working on making it inspection -pass able..

@ CAFROG - when i purchased the car it ran perfectly. i asked the guy to take me for a ride since i didnt know how to drive stick at the time ( LOL) . He went fast as fuck in no time. Im guessing since he drag raced aha. but i didnt know he sold me the car with a bad battery. that was my mistake..

I really want to fix the car up, making it better in everyway. I want new headers, cat, and intake manifold. I was thinking about ls vtec but then i would need to get the gsr head first then everything else or i could stay with my ls and get everything i mentioned then turbo it later on my path of building hondas. If i were to stay with my ls motor what brand name should i get for the headers, cat, and intake manifold. 4-1 headers or 4-2-1 headers? DC? Skunk 2? My headers seem to be cracking a little since my car is so low. I hit a couple speed bumps even after going to a complete stop before going over the bump . I found out the cat was soderd on to the headers and it makes my exhuast nd pipes not perfectly even under the car . Any help would be appreciated . I wanted skunk 2 for all my pieces but some brands are better in there ways which is why i ask .

us honda guys only have one header... just so you know. I'd start out small first because your new to the hondas. Get an intake and exhaust then chip it.

    Good luck!

I say you do not install a chip or any socketed ECU until you have something worth tuning. Get the car straight and presentable......that would be my first steps.

New muffler wouldn't hurt because the one you got sticks out pretty far past the bumper. I think its for a coupe

i guess i do need to work on the body but thats an easy ride to the junk yard with a friends id . The muffler sticks out because i realized the cat was sodded on to the header and it throws the pipes off a bit. which is why i was saying i need a new header and cat and asking what brand is good . i do appreciate everyones advice , i am very new to the honda world.

If the catalytic converter shifted everything........it wouldn't fit unless its a total straight shot (going UNDER the suspension). It should be in the exhaust tunnel and have multiple bends. I own the same chassis and the distance (on your current exhaust) from the center of your back tire to the end of your muffler is too long. A 15" muffler is ideal (May be able to get away with a little bit bigger) You may be able to modify yours so it looks better (or have a muffler shop do it for you)
